I captured this photo while kayaking in Lake Martin, Louisiana early on a Spring morning. The area is a stunning tupelo swamp in southern Louisiana, and at the time the tip of my kayak was only ten feet from the nose of this 12 foot long alligator staring me down. A mix of fear and excitement was the clear emotion of the moment.
