The Great Horned Owl is known for their distinctive ear tufts and is also known as the Tiger Owl. I was fortunate enough to come upon this one during sunset within the Walden Ponds Wildlife Habitat near Boulder, Colorado. He was just waking up to start his “day” as they are primarily nocturnal. Their demeanor is amazing and they give off a sense of calm strength as they take in the entirety of their surroundings constantly making quiet calculations through their luminous eyes.
